We are a (young at heart) retired couple who live in a detached, well-maintained house, in Forest Hill (a quiet, safe neighbourhood), conveniently located near Eglinton West subway... station, with direct access to U of T and York. We’re looking for a responsible adult to live in our furnished basement apartment for an academic-term rental (from Now until ~30 April 2026) .

Our basement is bright and clean. It has a large bedroom/sitting room, a spacious kitchen/laundry room, and a four-piece bathroom. The bedroom has a double bed, desk, chair, and chest of drawers. The kitchen has a fridge, stove, table and chairs, microwave and a toaster oven as well as dishes, pots and pans, etc. There is also a washer and dryer. Sheets and towels are included.

Both the kitchen and the bedroom have a lot of storage space.

We go away in the winter for four and a half months. In exchange for a lower than normal rent, there are a few jobs we ask our tenant to do for us: snow shovelling, occasional help with registered mail, and letting us know if anything happens in the house which needs our attention.

We want to ensure that someone is in our house continuously during the winter, while we're away. Therefore, we are only interested in renting to a non-smoking, mature graduate student who stays in town throughout the winter. You will be the only tenant.

Rent at the reduced rate of $1,350 includes heat, electricity and internet. There is no TV. There are no additional fees.
