Lovely Room in Cabbagetown Home for Rent - $900 (or $400 with cooking/chore exchange)

I am looking for a responsible and tidy roommate to share a comfortable 3-bedroom Victorian home in Cabbagetown starting Oct 1, 2025. I am flexible on the exact move-in date.

The room is furnished. However, for the right person, I can consider...
moving the furnishings out so the roommate can bring their own furniture. There is a washroom next to the room which would be shared with my two kids. The house is located very close to public transit. It is a 2 minute walk to get to a TTC stop and the Yonge/College subway station is a 15 min walk. The room has a large window that gets lots of sunlight and it overlooks the lovely backyard.

The house has all of the usual amenities: laundry, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, backyard seating area. It is located in Cabbagetown, which is a beautiful neighbourhood with stunning Victorian architecture and rich history. It is truly a charming area and one of my favourite things is daily walks around the ‘hood. This neighbourhood is walking distance from Ryerson Uni, George Brown and Uni of Toronto (downtown campus).

Rent is $900/month, including utilities, but you can get a discounted rate of $400 if you can help with the following:

- Cooking a healthy dinner three times per week
- Picking up groceries once per week at my expense
- Putting out the bins once per week for pick up
- Load and unload the dishwasher once per day, making sure dishes are put away neatly
- Shoveling the front walkway and back door entrance when there is a snowfall

Who you will be living with: I am a 48 year old female lawyer of South Asian background. I live here with my twin boys (12 years old) who are with me half the time. I am very clean and I like a quiet and organized house.

Who should you be: I am looking for someone clean, responsible, organized, ideally a student, respectful, no smoking/pets and has time to do all of the above chores. It is particularly important for me that you can help with the cooking (3 healthy family meals each week).

If interested, please message me with a description about yourself, whether you can help with the chores outlined above, any cooking experience that you may have, and when you’re looking to move in!
